PrepFriend is an online test-prep platform that builds practice tests by subject, topic, difficulty and time, then shows exactly what to study next. It currently supports the Digital SAT, covering all eight Math and Reading and Writing domains, and runs entirely in a web browser.
No. PrepFriend is an independent test-prep platform. SAT is a trademark registered by the College Board, which is not affiliated with, and does not endorse, PrepFriend.
No. PrepFriend runs in any modern web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There is no app to download and nothing to install.
Yes. PrepFriend's video lessons are on the PrepFriend101 YouTube channel at youtube.com/@prepfriend101. Inside PrepFriend, each SAT topic shows its lesson video next to the practice questions, so you can watch the explanation and try it straight away.
Only your email address. PrepFriend does not ask for your name, phone number, date of birth, school, home address or payment details when you sign up. Your email is used to sign you in and to keep your practice history together in one account.
Because an email address is all PrepFriend needs to give you an account. Collecting less personal information keeps sign-up quick and means there is less of your data to protect. Your practice results are tied to your email, so your progress is there whichever device you sign in from.
Select Sign in at the top of any PrepFriend page and use the email address you signed up with. Your practice history, scores and Practice Report are waiting in your account.
PrepFriend currently supports SAT prep only, covering the Digital SAT's Math and Reading and Writing sections. Support will expand to more tests, including the ACT, Quiz Bowl and USABO (USA Biology Olympiad).
ACT, Quiz Bowl and USABO prep are planned next. Each test will be added once its question bank has been built and reviewed, and it will appear in your account as soon as it launches. Until then, PrepFriend covers the Digital SAT.
PrepFriend covers all eight Digital SAT domains. For Math: Algebra, Advanced Math, Problem-Solving and Data Analysis, and Geometry and Trigonometry. For Reading and Writing: Craft and Structure, Information and Ideas, Standard English Conventions, and Expression of Ideas. Each domain is broken down into the individual skills the test assesses.
The Digital SAT has 98 questions and 2 hours 14 minutes of testing time, plus a 10-minute break between sections. Reading and Writing has 54 questions in 64 minutes, and Math has 44 questions in 70 minutes. Each section is scored from 200 to 800, for a total score of 400 to 1600.
PrepFriend offers quick sets of 5, 10 or 25 questions, topic drills on a single domain, timed sets at real SAT pace, and full-length Math or Reading and Writing sections with the real test's topic mix. You can also build your own practice test by subject, topic, difficulty and time.
The Practice Report shows how well prepared you are at every level: unit, chapter and topic. For the SAT, that means each section, domain, topic and skill. For each one it shows how many questions you got right and wrong, your percentage score, and how many of the available questions you have answered so far.
The Practice Report highlights where your accuracy is low and which topics you have not practised yet, so gaps are easy to spot. From any domain or skill in the report you can start a practice set on exactly that area, then watch its score and coverage update as you go.
Yes. PrepFriend's Reports page charts every completed test as a score trend, and breaks your accuracy down by subject, domain, skill and difficulty. You can filter the trend by test type, subject and difficulty, and compare yourself with other students once at least 10 have practised the same slice.
Focus areas are your five weakest spots, worked out from your past performance. PrepFriend ranks every combination of subject, skill and difficulty you have practised by accuracy, counting only combinations with at least five answers, so one unlucky guess is never flagged. Each focus area is one click from a practice set on exactly that weakness.
PrepFriend has three AI-powered study tools: PrepFriend Copilot, an assistant that answers questions about your own progress and explains topics; AI Recommendation, which builds your next practice set from your past performance; and AI-written step-by-step explanations for questions you miss. Alongside them, goal setting and tracking shows whether you are on course for your target score.
PrepFriend Copilot is an AI assistant available on every page once you sign in. Ask it about your assignments, results, focus areas, goal progress or recommended next test, have it explain an SAT topic from PrepFriend's lessons, or find a practice set. Parents and teachers can ask about their own students. It answers only from your account's data.
AI Recommendation reads your past answers and finds the SAT domain or topic where your accuracy is lowest, then builds a 10-question practice set on it. If every area is already at 80% or better, it recommends a harder difficulty instead, and a new student gets a starter set. AI writes a short explanation of why that set was chosen.
Set a target score and a test date, and PrepFriend tracks your progress towards them. Once you have completed at least three tests spread over at least a week, it projects your recent score trend forward and tells you whether you are on track or at risk. Students set their own goals, and parents and teachers can set them too.
PrepFriend's AI works from your real results, and the numbers behind every recommendation, focus area and goal projection are calculated directly from your answers, not guessed by the AI. If the AI is unavailable, PrepFriend still gives the same recommendation with a plain explanation, and people can review and correct anything the AI grades.
Yes. Parents can assign practice tests to their own children, and teachers to their own class, then follow progress by subject, domain and skill rather than a single score. Each role sees only the part that matters to it.
